Whether the company was negligent leading up to the breach remains to be seen. However, as we’ve discussed in previous posts, this does not change the fact that 365 Data Centers had a duty to protect your information. This is because both companies received your information from your healthcare provider in conjunction with the services each company was contracted to perform. Of course, because this is a third-party data breach, you may not have heard of Avem Health Partners or 365 Data Centers. As a result, you are at a much higher risk of falling victim to identity theft. If you receive a data breach letter from Avem Health Partners or 365 Data Centers, it means that your confidential and personal information is no longer secure. Recently, Avem sent out data breach letters to all affected parties, informing them of the incident and what they can do to protect themselves from identity theft and other frauds. According to Avem, the breach resulted in certain consumers’ names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance information, and diagnosis and treatment information being compromised. On December 14, 2022, Avem Health Partners reported a data breach with several state attorney general offices after the company learned of a cybersecurity incident at 365 Data Centers, a vendor used by one of Avem’s service providers. ![]()
